We’ve all heard of the giant brown statue, the Angel of the North. Now an equivalent in the South, will be in the form of a white horse, and will be built in Ebbsfleet, in Kent.
When finished, the horse will stand on four hooves at around the same height as Nelson’s Column (164 feet, or 50 metres). This art project will be constructed at a cost of around £2million.
Why is yet more money being wasted on such projects that do not benefit society? We should be cutting or abandoning them in this recession, not encourage them. There are so many things that the money could be spent on, like tackling the growing joblessness rate. Unfortunately, there are people in this country who still feel insulated from the rest of us in the real world.
