UKTV, the joint venture between Virgin Media and the BBC, has started a revamp of their channels.
Last week, while trying to find UKTV Gold on my remote control, I looked on the screen to realise that the channel had gone for good, to be split into two ‘new’ channels- Watch, for general entertainment, and G.O.L.D. (Go On Laugh Daily), which features comedy shows. UKTV Drama morphed into Alibi, whose prime focus now is on crime drama.
They have been publicising the channels for weeks. Were there going to be any new shows to come with them? No… their only new stars were….. Richard and Judy (AAAAAARRRGGGHH!). It’s no wonder British television is in crisis.
Is it me…. or is that the managers of UKTV think they can continue to insult viewers’ intelligence by showing the most recent old stuff again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………..
