An independent survey into the well-being of young children showed that they suffer more stress now than in the recent past.
Researchers from The Primary Review interviewed around 750 people from school teachers, parents, and even some children themselves. The survey (PDF), released today, showed UK children are under more pressure at present with problems at home, school, and the wider world around them.
Why is this? Why are children forced to grow up so soon? Why do they feel so unhappy about who they are and their place in the world? Why is it that after ten years of a so-called Labour government spending umpteen billions of pounds in tax-payers’ money in our schools, our children have turned out to be more stupid, more stressed, and more prone to violent behaviour? Will any minister publically admit to their opening this can of worms? I doubt it.
